Emily Shenk Flory is an editor on the digital copy desk at National Geographic in Washington, D.C. Before joining National Geographic, she was editor in chief of the Child Welfare League of America’s bimonthly magazine, Children’s Voice. She began her career as managing editor of the literary magazine Rapportage in her hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In addition to writing and editing, her freelance work has encompassed web design, video editing, marketing, and mobile apps. She's participated in fellowships with Journalism and Women Symposium and Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics.
